Northwind is a small woodshop operated by myself, Ryan Englert. I am dedicated to producing hand-made custom heirloom furniture and woodcraft in Interior Alaska. My interest is in producing the best quality wood product, from splined hardwood picture frames to heirloom bed frames. Reach out to me for your next custom project.

My passion for woodworking began six years ago with a table saw and a set of plans for a woodstrip canoe. Since then I’ve gathered a few more tools, learned more about the art and science of woodworking, and completed many different projects. I’ve learned that fine woodwork is precise, meticulous, and time consuming - and well worth it. I believe that the culmination of fine woodworking is the utility of a piece of natural beauty, in other words, if you need something then it should do it’s job and look appealing.
